Vibe
Son Sac is inspired by the charm of autumn in Paris and the warmth of summer in the South of France. By starry night skies and the soft glow of morning light. By embroidered linens and glimmering disco balls. By doors that open to bustling city streets and the distant melody of a saxophone. By a sunlit glass of wine and a breeze that dances along the water. By the beauty of the weathered and the allure of the glamorous. By the echoes of the past and the whispers of the future.
Vision
To begin with, all my materials were sourced from thrift stores, flea markets, fabric store remnants, and leftovers from friends and acquaintances who know I love to sew. That’s still the case. However, as I quickly experienced high demand for some of my styles, I reached out to various companies that deal in so-called deadstock. Deadstock refers to surplus fabrics from a production, such as clothing production. Typically, more fabric is produced than needed, so many factories end up with kilometers of excess fabric sitting in their basements or warehouses. By sewing with deadstock fabrics, both you and I are helping to reduce waste.
Deadstock has made it possible for me to accept pre-orders because I can purchase many meters at a time. However, my drops will always stay true to their core: I find a piece of fabric that inspires me and create one-of-a-kind items. Sometimes there’s only enough fabric for a single product—other times for 2-3 pieces—but after that, I won’t be able to offer it again, so be sure to keep an eye on my drops. A great way to do this is by signing up for my newsletter or following me on Instagram @sonsac.cph.
When you buy Son Sac, you’re helping to reduce waste and overproduction, while giving your wardrobe a unique twist.
